Anthony Pahnke is the Vice President of the Family Farm Defenders and an Associate Professor of International Relations at San Francisco State University. He is the author of three books, including Brazil's Long Revolution: Radical Achievements of the Landless Workers Movement (2018), Agrarian Crisis in the United States: Pathways for Reform (2023), and The Promise of New Agricultural Markets (2024), as well as various opinion pieces on agriculture, immigration, economics that have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, and The Hill, among other print and online publications. His family has a 240 acre farm in Wisconsin that once was a dairy farm, but that they are working on transitioning to organic grain production and potentially livestock.
