We are gathering with community partners on Tuesday, June 13th to urge the EPA to void a wastewater discharge permit for the Velella Epsilon industrial aquaculture facility.
We recently learned about some new shenanigans related to the proposed industrial fish farm off the coast of Sarasota County and we need to get the word out! The company that filed for the permit, Ocean Era, just told the EPA that they are chaining both the type of fish (from Almaco Jack to Red Drum) and the type of facility too – meaning very little other than the location of the facility is the same as when the permit was issued! This means the old permit should be revoked immediately
Please join us to show the EPA that our community cares about our water, wildlife, and the people and businesses that depend on a healthy gulf!
