Alex is serving as the Don’t Cage Our Oceans Intern for summer 2025. He is currently a junior at William & Mary, where he studies marine science and public policy, with a focus on marine policy and economics. During the school year, Alex works as a research intern at the Virginia Institute for Marine Science, studying coastal and estuarine ecology and contributing to research on seagrass restoration. He is a U.S. Coast Gaurd Licensed Captain and spent the previous two summers working as a fishing guide operating sustainable fishing charters from Marblehead, MA. Alex is particularly interested in marine initiatives involving sustainability and economic development, with a focus on the growing blue and green economies.
